I am still waiting for the French equivalent of the amazing and witty Endless Alphabet app to exist. In the meantime, Lettres Rigolotes is a start…and it’s free! For every letter of the alphabet, Lettres Rigolotes provides you with a silly sentence using alliteration. It reminds me of one of my daughter’s all time favorite books. It is adorable to hear the native French-speaking child reading the phrases. After the phrase is read, you can touch the letter to hear its sound and interact with the character on the screen. I don’t foresee this app becoming as beloved as Soleil’s favorite alphabet book, but I can see how this would be extremely helpful for reinforcing the French alphabet and sounds…which will become the building blocks for their literacy in French later on!
